DECOMMISSIONED

The article is full of  factual errors.

She took part in the evacuation of GReece not Crete.

Glenroy actually tried to reinforce Crete, Thats when she was bombed but not seriously damaged,

(Up to 12 divebombers had a go at her)  only resulting in a few casualties from near misses and damage mainly from fire and the loss of  landing craft.

Prior to that she had been grounded coming out of harbour on the way to Crete, resulting in sufficiant damage  for her to be drydocked. This probably saved her from the terrible Naval losses that ensued.

Then NOV 1941  she was very seriuosly damaged by Aerial torpedo resulting her being put of action until late 1943.

But she was at D  day- GOLD  beach and for , for 6 trips  until she hit a mine. Again, seriuosly damaged ,and towed back to Uk for yet more repairs. Actually the torpedoes  that sunk the Svenner ( the only allied warship to be sunk on D day) just missed her.
