TRAINING troops in amphibous landings

IN AUGUST   WE SAILED DOWN THE SUEZ  WITH 18TH BATTLION  OF NEW ZEALANDERS ABOARD, AMONG OTHERS.

THE TASK WAS TO MAKE MOCK ATTACKS FROM THE SEA  ON A DESIGNATED "AIRFIELD."

SEPTEMBER 1941 R & R ADU ATOLL   THE MALDIVES

In September we were sent to Adu Atoll  for a bit of a break. I met up with a friend  From my Village( Alverstoke).Bunny Rodgers

He was in the marines.  He was  to guard an oil platform. He  was subsequently  posted missing  when the Japanese   attacked the platform . Never to be seen again.
